Satsuma jar and cover with spring and autumn scenery

Ryōzan for Yasuda Company

A large Satsuma earthenware ovoid jar and cover, the body with three panels finely painted and gilt, one depicting a cherry blossom scene at a tea house by the lake, another with an early autumn scene of people gathering in a garden for the moon and chrysanthemum viewing, and the third with a spring bird on a flowering cherry tree. The cover and borders decorated with numerous flowers.

Signed on the base Dai-Nihon Kyoto Tojiki Goshigaisha Ryōzan with a trade mark of Yasuda Company and the Satsuma mon
