A fine and extremely rare cloisonné enamel kōro (incense burner) of a gourd form with handles and three feet, the pale brown body decorated in silver wire and green and yellow moriage enamel with kōhone (nuphar japonica, a type of waterlily), upwardly blooming yellow flowers, with some still in buds above leaves; the base and feet in silver wire and pale blue moriage enamel with a stylized water stream, the handles in silver wire with detailed patterns of numerous butterflies. The cover with a realistic articulated silver dragonfly sitting aloft.
